Anaïs Nin was a French-Cuban American diarist, essayist, novelist, and writer of short stories and erotica including Delta of Venus and Little Birds. She was a woman who wrote explicitly about sex from a female point of view. Anaïs was considered by many critics as one of the finest writers of female erotica. She might be best known for her explicit diaries, that were published during her lifetime, describing in great detail her private thoughts, marriages and personal relationships, her numerous affairs (which included writer Henry Miller), and erotic adventures. For some reason, her husband at the time refused to be included in the published diaries.
